88 of 107 items on this page have a server id different from the client id, marked as "differs" in both id columns. They differ because the key of data/1098/items/definitions.json is the server id (the number to use in commands and on the map), while definition.id is the client id — and the client id is the index of the art in Tibia.dat / Tibia.spr, so the sprite file below is named after it. Check which one a command or a wiki link is asking for: reading the art by the server id shows the drawing of another item, with no visible error.

Weight shows the raw value from data/1098/items/definitions.json and the same value in ounces, as the game shows it: the datapack stores centigrams and the engine divides by 100. The divisor was measured in the engine (the weight is computed as weightInUnits / 100, described in its source as "1/100 oz units", and the tooltip renders (weight / 100).toFixed(2) oz).

What this page is, and what it is not

This category is weaponType=sword: the items the server accepts as a sword. The melee family is split by weaponType and not by slotType — sword, axe and club are three different weapons that share a field. Measured on this datapack: 109 entries have weaponType=sword, 107 of them are listed below, 95 have weaponType=axe (the Axes page) and 106 have weaponType=club (the Clubs page). Each one is its own page; an axe that a reader found on the swords page would be a misfiled weapon, not a duplicate.

The 2 entries that are measured but not listed are client id collisions, and they are named here because the raw count and the published count differ by exactly that: the "a crimson sword" (server id 8209) shares client id 7385 with the "a crimson sword" (server id 7385), which comes first in definitions.json, and "the Ron the Ripper's sabre" (server id 11426) shares client id 6101 with "Ron the Ripper's sabre" (server id 6101), also first. The client renders art by client id, so keeping both would show one sword's drawing on a row whose text names another sword. The rule is the one already used by tools/build-client-item-definitions.js (first occurrence wins), the discarded entries are declared in manifest.json, and every id is still usable on the map.

The neighbouring cut to watch for is slotType. All the hand weapons declare the same slot, so it cannot separate this family: slotType=two-handed has 155 entries on this datapack and only 35 of them are weaponType=sword — the other 120 are 44 axes, 39 clubs and 37 ranged weapons (19 bows, 18 crossbows). Cutting on the slot publishes 155 rows instead of 107. Cutting the other way is just as wrong: weaponType=sword together with slotType=two-handed publishes 35 and drops 72 real one-handed swords with no warning at all, because the other 72 of the 107 declare no slotType whatsoever — the Slot column below is empty on those rows and says two-handed on the other 35. (The axe page lost 51 of 95 to the same cut; here the loss is bigger, because most swords are one-handed.)

The name is not the cut either, and it fails badly in both directions. A page built from sword/blade/sabre/saber/katana/falchion/rapier/scimitar/broadsword/cutlass/dagger in the name would show 103 rows: 72 real swords and 31 that are not — two are "a sword ring" (slotType=ring, so they belong to the Rings page) and 29 declare no weaponType at all, so they carry none of the attributes this page promises (a broken sword, a sword hilt, a cobrafang dagger, four "a rudder blade", and the rest). Conversely 35 real swords have no weapon word in their name and a name-built page would drop them: a knife, a combat knife, a longsword, a machete, a heavy machete, an epee, a sai, a twiceslicer, a heavy trident, the templar scytheblade, the five slayers of carving/mayhem/remedy, the four elemental dragon slayers, the umbral slayers, the calamities, an impaler of the igniter, pointed rabbitslayer, the justice seeker, a berserker, a bloody edge and a wyvern fang among them. skillSword is not the cut either: 12 entries declare it and only 3 of them are swords (a shiny blade, an umbral master slayer, an umbral masterblade).

What separates the rows here is the declared attributes. elementFire, elementIce, elementEarth and elementEnergy are what tell a fiery blacksteel sword (fire 7, attack 35, defense 22) from an elemental dragon slayer of the same element (fire 9, attack 35, defense 28) — the same weapon family and the same weight class, and nothing but that column to tell them apart. charges and decayTo mark the 20 elemental swords that wear out and turn back into a plain one, extradef appears on 49 of the 107 and skillSword on 3. The charges column is worth reading carefully: 20 of the 22 are 1000 and the other two are 1 and 2 — an ice rapier has 1 charge and a glooth blade has 2, so they break in one or two hits while the elemental family lasts for a thousand. hitChance, maxHitChance, range, armor and speed are not columns here because none of the 107 declares them (measured: 0 of 107).

Every one of the 107 has art: all 107 client ids resolve to an address in the Tibia.spr. Three pairs are the same drawing — a longsword and an incredible mumpiz slayer, a mean knight sword and a wooden sword, a rapier and a light rapier — because the 10.98 client draws them the same way, not because the picture was copied.
